Configuring Backup Options

In the Backup pane, you can configure the directory for storing virtual machine backups. To open this pane:

1. Select the server in the Parallels Management Console sidebar.
2. Choose Edit Settings from the Server menu.
3. Click Backup in the Server Settings dialog.

   

You can choose one of the following options:

• Local server . Select this option to store virtual machine backups on the Parallels server. By default, backups are stored in the following directories:

  Parallels Server for Mac— /Users/Shared/Parallels/Backups

  Parallels Server Bare Metal— /var/parallels/backups

  Parallels Server for Mac Bare Metal Edition— /var/parallels/backups

  To change the default directory, specify the desired path in the field provided or click the Choose button and locate the directory.

• Other server . Select this option to store virtual machine backups on a remote Parallels server—that is, on the server different from the one where the virtual machines are residing. To set a remote Parallels server as a backup server, type its IP address or hostname in the field provided, and specify the credentials to access the remote server in the User Name and Password fields.

Restore Defaults

To restore the default settings, click Restore Defaults .
