Toolbar
The toolbar contains buttons for most frequent commands you are likely to perform in Parallels Management Console: starting and stopping virtual machines, suspending and resuming them, and so on.
Some toolbar buttons become enabled only when a virtual machine is running. If you click a toolbar button, it becomes visibly pressed.
The main toolbar buttons are listed below:
Start
. Use this button to start a virtual machine if it is shut down, paused, or suspended. If the virtual machine is suspended or paused, this button becomes the
Resume
button
.
Shut Down
. Use this button to shut down a guest operating system gracefully.
Suspend
. Use this button to put a virtual machine into the sleep mode for a certain period of time. If you need to restart the Parallels server, you can temporarily suspend your virtual machines and easily resume them after the restart.
Detach Console (Attach Console)
. Use this button to detach the virtual machine console to a new window or to attach it back to the main window. You may use this button to view a running virtual machine in a separate window.
Full Screen
. Use this button to switch a virtual machine to
the Full Screen mode
. To return back to the Window mode, press the default key combination Ctrl+Alt+Enter. You can change the default key combination in
the
Preferences
dialog
available from the
File
menu on a Windows and Linux computer or from the
Management Console
menu on a Mac computer).
Restart
. Use this button to restart a guest operating system.
Pause
. Use this button to pause a virtual machine when you need to instantly release the server resources used by this virtual machine.
Stop
. Use this button to stop a virtual machine when it is not running properly and cannot be stopped using a normal shutdown procedure.
Note:
If you click this button when a virtual machine is running, you may lose all unsaved data. To turn off the virtual machine, use the shutdown procedure for the guest OS installed in it or use the
Shut Down
button.
Reset
. Use this button for the hard reset of a virtual machine when it is not running properly and cannot be restarted using the
Restart
button.
Take Snapshot
. Use this button to create a snapshot of a virtual machine.
Revert to Snapshot
. Use this button to roll back the changes made to a virtual machine since the last snapshot.
Manage Snapshots
. Use this button to open the
Virtual Machine Snapshots
