Configuring Host-Only Network Settings

In the Host-Only pane, you can configure the settings of host-only virtual networks. To open this pane:

  1. Select the server in the Parallels Management Console sidebar.
  2. Choose Edit Settings from the Server menu.
  3. Expand the Virtual Networks item, and click Host-Only . Host-Only is the name of the default host-only virtual network on the Parallels server. If you have created other host-only virtual networks, click their names instead of Host-Only .

    Specifying Host-Only Shared Network Options

You can do the following:

  • In the Type field, change the type of the virtual network.
  • In the Name field, change the virtual network name.
  • In the Description field, change the virtual network description.
  • In the Network Adapter field, select the network adapter to connect to the virtual network. This field is available only if you change the network type to 'bridged' in the Type field.
  • Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Network Settings dialog where you can configure a number of advanced network parameters for the virtual network. For more information on advanced settings, see Defining Host-Only Network Settings .
  • Click the Reset button to restore the default settings. In this case, all custom networks are removed from the Parallels server, except for two default networks ( Host-Only and Bridged ), and the parameters of both networks are set to default values.
