Advanced SettingsThe Advanced pane of the Virtual Machine Configuration dialog allows you to configure a number of advanced settings for a virtual machine.
All settings on this tab are related to Parallels Tools and, consequently, are applied only to the virtual machines that have Parallels Tools installed. SmartMouse The SmartMouse option allows the mouse to move smoothly between the virtual machine and your server. With this option enabled, Parallels Server Bare Metal automatically grabs the mouse input when you move the pointer to the virtual machine and releases it when you move it back to the server. You can configure this option as follows:
Synchronizing Time Select the Synchronize time with the Parallels server option to have the virtual machine time settings automatically synchronized with the time settings on the Parallels server. This option is disabled by default to avoid possible conflicts with third-party time synchronization tools, if you use any in your virtual machine. If the time zone specified for the virtual machine differs from that of the Parallels server, you can maintain this time difference by selecting Allow a different time than on the Parallels server . Copy & Paste If you want to copy and paste data between the server and the virtual machine, select the Share clipboard option. If the data you copy and paste is text and you want to preserve text formatting in the destination document, select the Preserve text formatting option. Updating Parallels Tools If you select the Allow automatic Parallels Tools updates option, Parallels Tools in the virtual machine is automatically updated once you update the Parallels Server Bare Metal software on the Parallels server. If you disable this option, you can manually check for available Parallels Tools updates and install them in the virtual machine by choosing the Update Parallels Tools option from the Virtual Machine menu. Use the host computer's SMBIOS data Select the Use the host computer's SMBIOS data option to use the SMBIOS data of the host computer in the virtual machine (for example, if some applications in the virtual machine requires this data). By default, virtual machines use their own virtualized SMBIOS data. |
