Enabling Parental Control in a Virtual Machine

If you are a user with administrator rights, Parallels Desktop allows you to apply your parental control settings, configured in Mac OS X for managed accounts, to Windows virtual machines. Restrictions for virtual machines include launching specific applications and viewing specific websites.

To apply parental control settings to your Windows virtual machines, do the following:

  1. Install Parallels Tools in the virtual machines.
  2. Add Parallels Desktop to the list of allowed applications for the users to whom you apply parental control.

After that, when such a user starts a Windows virtual machine, the parental control settings configured for this user will take effect in the guest operating system. This means the user will not be able to launch the restricted guest OS applications and view the restricted websites.
