General Preferences

Using General preferences, you can:

• Set whether the Parallels icon is displayed in the OS X menu bar
• Set where new Windows installations are stored
• Set the appearance of virtual machine Dock icons
• Set the frequency that Parallels Desktop checks for software updates
• Configure Parallels Desktop to start automatically on Mac startup. With the Start Parallels Desktop as a service option selected, you can configure your virtual machines to start automatically when the Mac starts.

  Note: This feature is available in Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition only.
