Installations via PXE Servers

Kickstart files you use to perform an unattended installation of Parallels Cloud Server 6.0 and Parallels Cloud Storage over a network contain a cluster authentication password in plain text. Attackers may intercept the password and gain access to your cluster. To secure your system, do one of the following:

  • Physically isolate the network where the PXE server is located from all other (potentially insecure) networks.
  • Install Parallels Cloud Server 6.0 via the PXE server but do not set up a Parallels Cloud Storage cluster. Once the installation is complete, manually deploy the cluster in your network using the Parallels Cloud Storage password-based authentication mechanism.
